My Gratia today is for baby chicks...
Our new house that we are moving to just so happens to have a chicken coop. I have held back on the backyard chicken trend for three reasons; space for the coop, a bit of a childhood fear of chickens and the foulness of fowl. Anyways, since like I said the new house has a coop already and as it happens Gus's class has had chicks hatch in the class room and they need a home to go to we decided to take the leap. It will be a great lesson for the kids and as well for Jake and I and of course a new adventure to embark on. I have to say that the thought of those eggs is enough to convince me on the idea. YUM!

My Gratia today is having a lunch date...
With Wren.
She is turning six on Sunday and we have lots of "planning" to do. Well, mostly what we are going to have for breakfast. Anyways, we had one of our great lunch dates today to discuss the big day. Just her and I out for soup, it is a usual thing for us. Knowing that she will be in school full time next year I have taken advantage of having her with me for a few more months. Today's lunch date was extra special for after we solidified our birthday plans I took her for grown up antiquing afterwards. This is something that my Mom and I love to do together and I have often thought of what it will be like to do it with Wren. Well, today we did. She is so good in the stores and acts so grown up and mature, not touching things and enjoying the "craziness" of antique stores. She has grown up so fast and although she is only going to be six she seems so much older. I look forward to many more of our lunch/antiquing dates in the years to come.

My Gratia today is for finding out what the stench was...
We woke up this morning to a horrid smell that permeated the entire house. We searched the fridge, took the garbage out and couldn't figure it out. Then I looked by the washing machine and there it was. Wren, yesterday, spilled half a jug of milk all over the floor. It was quite a mess and I made her clean it up. She did it while I was getting out of the shower so I was of little help. She was told to put the towel in the washing machine but a mad little five year old isn't the best listener. There it is was a putrid towel on the floor in front of the washing machine. I quickly got in the machine and gagged the entire time getting detergent in it. With my cheering section chanting "don't puke Mom"  I managed to get it started and washing with only dry heaving. Way to go Mom!

My Gratia today is for someone else s house...
That we are going to be moving to. We have a house for us under contract in Providence, Utah. It is a nice little place with a great yard and even a coop for chickens. Relieved that this all may be coming to a close and we can get back to normalcy well at least normal for us.

My Gratia today is for our house.
Our house is now under contract and I am so excited. Mostly because I really tired of showing the house. It is no easy task to keep your home spotless for two months and have 45 or more showings of it. Now someone has decided that this will be their home. I am sad to leave but also content with the decision. It is time to move on and we are all ready but the memories that float in the air in this house will be the things difficult to leave. I suppose that the final thing I will do when leaving is erasing the growth chart off of the kitchen wall. A fitting goodbye to this old house.

By the way we planted peas and what do you know...an offer on the house, I knew it!
